Lotte and the Moonstone Secret has Accumulated over 63 000 Viewers in Estonia

The animated film Lotte and the Moonstone Secret by Janno Põldma and Heiki Ernits has already attracted 63 163 viewers in movie theatres in Estonia. Thus Lotte and the Moonstone Secret occupies fourth place in the standings of the films with the largest audiences in Estonia since the restoration of independence – only Names Engraved in Marble (167 958 viewers), Made in Estonia (81 921 viewers) and 186 Kilometres (72 772 viewers) are ahead of the adventures of the cheerful girl puppy. A total of 56 600 people went to see the previous Lotte film Lotte from Gadgetville in Estonian movie theatres.

Lotte and the Moonstone Secret will go on sale in DVD format with several exciting extras starting in December. Plans are in place to issue the film on Blue-Ray disc in the New Year. The dubbing of the film into English is about to begin in Germany. The German film distribution company Sola Media GmbH is looking after the worldwide distribution of Lotte and the Moonstone Secret.

Lotte and the Moonstone Secret is produced by Eesti Joonisfilm Studio and its directors are Janno Põldma and Heiki Ernits. Janno Põldma, Heiki Ernits and Andrus Kivirähk wrote the film’s screenplay. The voice of the girl dog Lotte is by Evelin Võigemast. Margus Tabor, Mait Malmsten, Tõnu Oja, Priit Võigemast, Tõnu Kark, Lembit Ulfsak, Tiit Sukk, Merle Palmiste, Anu Lamp and other well-known actors also participated in the voice cast of the film. The producers of the film are Kalev Tamm and Riina Sildos. The film was completed as an Estonian-Latvian co-production. Eesti Joonisfilm Studio’s co-producer is Rija Films.

The composer for Lotte and the Moonstone Secret is Sven Grünberg and in addition to him, Renārs Kaupers also composed music for the film. Kaupers is the composer of two of the songs that are heard in the film – The Penguins’ Song, which Andero Ermel sings in the film, and End Song, sung by Gerli Padar. Children’s writer Leelo Tungal wrote the Estonian lyrics for both songs.
